OoOoo Following Your Dreams ooOoO




I was trying out Ameer Ali with a friend. It’s really great to sit and have some chats. So I thought I could share it here.

Everyone have dreams right? Well I do. And you guys also do I know even though you’re a bit shy to tell me I know you do. And this thing called dream surely is a self-morphing thing. I’m not sure if there’s anyone here who have currently, the same dream as the one they had when they were a little cute boy/girl. You know like soldier, firetruck driver kinda thing. It’s not a bad thing to dream of though. It’s a noble one in fact.
And as we get older, there’s thing called Reality Check, and suddenly people dump their dreams.
Ok maybe dump is a little bit too harsh. They modified it a bit, give it a little touch of reality, and settle with it.
I wanted to be a Film Director. But mom said there’s no future in it. So now I’m becoming an engineer.
Hurray. Nothing’s wrong with becoming an engineer though. So… what’s my point again?


Higglytown Heroes


It’s a great series. I mean I don’t watch every episodes. Ok watched a few. With my lil bro of course. And that was long time ago before Ben10 and the likes came along and made him ditched this.
For those who didn’t know what was it all about, it’s a very simple, same template story in every episodes, profession introduction series that makes these kids really appreciate all kind of profession that they see everyday in their life. From Police Inspector to Sign Language Interpreter to Pizza Guy (he did in fact appeared in most if not every episodes).
If you have lil bros or kids at home, this is definitely one of the good series out there to see.
It teaches and inspires.

Passion and Money, Which Comes First?
In a survey conducted many years ago, 1,500 people were asked that very same question and were then separated in 2 different categories based on their feedback. Category A believed that money was their priority and would consider doing what they want to do later. 1,245 people went into that group. Category B, made up of 255 people preferred going after their passion and trust that money would follow subsequently.
What do you think happened to both groups 20 years later?
Out of 1,500 people in the whole group, 101 of them became millionaires. Only one came from Category A. The remaining 100 of the millionaires all came from Category B.

Well if you are already pursuing your passion and already making lots of money then thats.. oklah.
I put money in the subject here since it is playing a big role in making people decide which way they are going. It is rather sad to see that there are a lot of people who have dump their passion/dreams to go for (easy) money since it’s the easier way.
You know the normal cycle. Study, Score, Graduate, Interview, Work, Earn $$$, Go Home, Work, Earn $$$.

It’s not the best choice imo because of these few reasons:
  1. We will have people who end up not following their dreams. Chances are they don’t do things whole-heartedly.
  2. The easy money is not in 5 or 6 digits (or maybe more). Settling with 4 digits means incurring a lot of opportunity cost.
  3. If someone dreamt of making Good movies, and decided to dump the dreams to become an engineer for all his life. Then we have just lost a Good movie producers. We might even end up having a mediocre engineer as oppose to an excellent producer.
Things we need to do that may help people follow their dreams:
  1. Follow your dream, you will inspire people to follow theirs
  2. Tell them why following dreams is like the in thing
  3. Provide them with platform and supports to follow their dreams (ngos, government play huge role here)
I just finished reading a book called The Dip by Seth Godin. It helps a lot in explaining the how’s and why’s of following dreams. A very short book (80 pages only). Worth reading.
So, that’s it from me. Till then.

Erti Sebuah Kegagalan...>>Bangkitlah!

Tidak dapat dinafikan, kegagalan merupakan sesuatu yang amat pahit untuk ditelan. Kesakitan hasil darinya boleh menyebabkan seseorang amat terganggu dari sudut fizikal , mental, malah juga spritualnya.

Dari sudut mental, selain dari menjadi seseorang dan sesuatu yang boleh dipersalahkan, adakalanya ramai juga yang akan mengutuk diri sendiri, atas kegagalan yang menimpanya. Kutukan demi kutukan terhadap diri sendiri akhirnya bakal memakan dan membarahkan lebih banyak kekecewaan hingga membawa putus asa.
Menerima diri sebagai terus gagal dan akan terus terbuang. Diri akan terus menjauh dari masyarakat kerana terasa kerdil dan malu atas kegagalannya.

Dari sudut fizikal, bagi sesetengah individu, selera menjadi menurun hingga membawa implikasi kesihatan tubuh. Manakala yang lain pula sebaliknya bertambah selera makan akibat kegagalan, juga membawa kesan negative kepada kesihatan fizikalnya.
Akhirnya tanpa kesihatan fizikal, mental dan minda turut merosot, akhirnya kedua-duanya rebah dan sukar untuk bangkit kembali.

Dari sudut spiritual, kegagalan boleh mendatangkan dosa, ia juga boleh menambah pahala dan iman seseorang. Saya pernah bertemu seseorang yang gagal dalam PhD, terhakis keyakinannya terhadap konsep qada' dan qadar Allah. Imannya tergoncang.

Tidak kurang ada yang menyalahkan Allah ta'ala sewaktu menghadapi sebuah kegagalan. Akhirnya, dia terus jatuh dari sudut spiritualnya, kejatuhan bersama mental dan fizikal. Sukar dirawati.

Namun begitu, ada juga kegagalan yang berjaya menjadi asbab seseorang mendekatkan diri kepada Allah ta'ala. Kembali kepada jalan lurus setelah bengkok. Lalu dia kembali bangkit dengan azam, plan dan laluan yang baru, lalu dia berjaya.

KEGAGALAN DAN SAYA

Saya sendiri pernah gagal dalam banyak perkara, namun Alhamdulillah, ia tanda kita perlu membuat perubahaan yang agak besar bagi memperbetulkannya. Tanpa usaha tersebut, kegagalan akan terus bernanah dan membunuh. Biasanya sebuah perubahan itu amat perit dan berat, lagi kurang selesa. Walau sukar dan berat, ia sebuah kemestian. Hasilnya apabila tepat cara pengendalikan kegagalan dan perubahan yang diperlukan, ia akan membuahkan hasil yang lebih baik.

Tatkala itu baru kita sedari, rupanya kegagalan itu adalah sebuah titik kepada penyambungan titik yang lain dalam kehidupan kita. Ia seperti sebuah simpang yang menjauhkan kita dari kesesatan atau melorongkan kita kepada satu laluan yang lebih baik untuk masa hadapan.

Saya teringat betapa kecewanya saya apabila tidak berjaya menyambung pelajaran di peringkat bachelor di Timur Tengah. Sekarang saya sedar dan tahu betapa besar hikmah untuk saya belajar di dalam Universiti Malaya, segala pengalaman yang diperoleh itu amat banyak mencorak kehidupan saya selepas itu. Akhirnya selepas tiga tahun menamatkan pengajian di UM, saya berjaya ke Jordan, bukan untuk peringkat Bachelor, tetapi Masters (Sarjana).

Banyak perkara dan jenis kegagalan dan saya kini sedar, hikmah dan kebaikan darinya, namun ia agak personel untuk dikongsikan. Apapun, semua jenis kegagalan yang menimpa, memerlukan satu proses perit yang lain. Bukankah Allah ta'ala telah mengingatkan "Sessunguhnya dengan kesukaran itu adalah kesenangan"

Apa yang mesti dan pasti, kita mesti meyakini bahawa kegagalan itu adalah sebuah proses yang amat perlu ditangani secara positif. Ia ibarat sebuah konflik yang mendesak minda dan aqal kita untuk lebih agresif dan kreatif untuk mencari jalan keluar. Tanpa disedari rupanya tanpa kegagalan, kita mungkin akan berterusan di takuk lama dan kurang kreatif.

UCAPAN STEVE JOBS YANG ‘BRILLIANT'

Di ketika saya menulis ini, saya amat kagum dengan tips dan nasihat Steve Jobs, CEO syarikat ternama dunia, Apple dan PIXAR.

Beliau menceritakan bagaimana beliau gagal di university yang akhirnya membuahkan idea penciptaan perisian dan komputer Macintosh, sebuah revolusi dalam dunia komputer malah ia merupakan idea yang ditiru kemudiannya oleh Bill Gates, pengasas Microsoft, dengan sedikit perubahan.

Beliau menceritakan bagaimana pada umur 30 tahun, akibat kebuntuan syarikat yang diasaskannya iaitu Apple, lembaga pengarah syarikat telah menolaknya keluar dari syarikat tersebut. Hasil kegagalan itu, lahirlah revolusi kartun moden menggunakan animasi komputer. Lahirlah animasi Toy Story yang amat popular. Jika tidak kerana kegagalan pertama, revolusi animasi seperti Toy Story mungkin belum pasti bila akan wujud.

Selain itu, pelbagai nasihat lain turut diberikan oleh Steve Job dalam ucapannya, termasuklah memastikan kita sudah menjumpai kerja dan bidang yang kita cinta dan minat, tanpa minat dan kecintaan kepada tugasan kita, setiap kerja akan menjadi beban. Namun bagi Muslim, minat tersebut mestilah dipastikan TIDAK BERLANGGAR dengan Hukum Islam. Apabila haram, ia wajib diubah kepada yang halal.

Ucapan beliau semakin menarik apabila mendedahkan bagaimana perana ‘merasa akan mati' memotivasikan diri untuk membuat keputusan tepat dalam kehidupan. Jobs berkata

"Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything - all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose"

Dalam Islam, kematian memang sudah lama dijadikan prinsip oleh Rasulullah saw untuk diterapkan kepada umatnya agar berusaha berfikri sesuatu yang lebih penting dan meninggalkan yang penting dan kurang penting. Bagi umat Islam, apa yang paling penting adalah apa yang akan kita bawa selepas mati. Justeru, fikirkan dan berubahlah. Janganlah menganggap kegagalan itu sesuatu yang terlalu besar, jadikan ia kunci untuk kejayaan seterusnya.

Benar, apa sahaja kegagalan boleh diatasi kesan buruknya, sehingga dilihat kerdil dan kecil serta boleh diatasi JIKA KITA MENYEDARI, kematian itu pasti dan sesuatu perlu dilakuakn segera untuk mempersiapkan diri kepadanya.

Dengarkan ucapan Steve Job, pengasas computer Apple, Animasi PIXAR, salah seorang billionaire di planet bumi. Pada hemat saya, ucapan beliau ini amat cemerlang. Sayangnya beliau belum mendapat hidayah kepada Islam.

Akhirnya, kegagalan jangan dicari, tetapi apabila ia datang, Ia tanda bahawa satu perubahan drastik diperlukan dalam rutin harian, mengubah zon selesa yang lapuk kepada sebuah zon baru yang tidak lagi gagal.

Jadikankegagalan sebagai ubat penawar yang maha pahit tetapi menyembuh luka yang dalam, terlihat dan tidak terlihat.

Sesungguhnya orang mukmin itu tidak sedih dan tidak takut kecuali Allah.

'You've got to find what you love,' Jobs says

This is the text of the Commencement address by Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, delivered on June 12, 2005.

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.

The first story is about connecting the dots.

I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?

It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" They said: "Of course." My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.

And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.

It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:

Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating.

None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, its likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.

Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

My second story is about love and loss.

I was lucky - I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation - the Macintosh - a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.

I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me - I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.

I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.

During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the worlds first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.

I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.

My third story is about death.

When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything - all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.

I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.

This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope its the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.

Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you.

Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish.

Warkah Buat Calon Zaujah Ku...

Assolatuwassalam a’la Rasulillah
Selawat dan Salam buat Nabi Muhammad saw, Pembawa Rahmat Seluruh Alam...

Salam sejahtera buat calon zaujahku yang dihijab pertemuan olehNya sehingga detik kita disatukan dengan lafaz ijab bersaksi qabul berwali. Semoga langkahmu tangkas dengan semangat juang Islam. Walau apapun yang kita lakukan, dasarilah ia dengan memohon keredhaanNya supaya setiap langkah itu beroleh keberkatan.

”Ya Allah, gembirakanlah aku dengan redhaMu”

Kukira untaian doa srikandi iman, Sayyidah Nafisah binti Hasan bin Zaid bin Hasan bin Ali bin Abu Thalib ini mampu menyuburkan hatimu dengan Nur KasihNya.

"Dan di antara tanda-tanda kekuasaan Nya ialah Dia menciptakan untukmu isteri-isteri dari jenismu sendiri, supaya kamu cenderung dan merasa tenteram kepadanya, dan dijadikannya di antaramu rasa kasih dan sayang.¨ (Ar-Rum: 21)

Telah dikhabarkan bahawa engkau adalah calon yang sekufu untukku, bakal menjadi peneman solehah bersamaku merentas becaknya denai-denai perjuangan Islam ini. InsyaAllah. Kesesuaian ini telah kupohon dalam setiap doaku padaNya, dalam setiap sujudku, dalam setiap ibadah hajat dan istikharahku selama ini. Tanpa jemu walaupun pertemuan itu masih dirahsiakan. Besar kurniaanNya kepada kita. Hijab itu membolehkan aku dan kau melengkapkan diri masing-masing dengan bekalan agama agar baitul muslim kita nanti tidak suram dengan Nur keimanan yang malap.

Calon zaujahku yang dirahmati,

”Dinikahi seorang wanita itu kerana empat perkara hartanya, keturunannya, kecantikannya dan agamanya. Maka pilihlah hal keagamaannya, maka beruntunglah kedua-dua tanganmu..”

Bukan harta yang kuperlukan, bukan keturunan yang menjadi keutamaan, bukan
kecantikan yang kuidamkan, tetapi kefasihan agamamu itu yang aku dambakan. Itulah hikmah sekufu yang menjadi asas usrah muslim antara aku, kau dan anak-anak pewaris ketauhidan Islam dalam mengESAkan Allah Yang Satu.

“Hai manusia, sesungguhnya Kami ciptakan kamu dan lelaki dan perempuan dan menjadikan kamu berbangsa--bangsa dan bersuku-suku supaya kamu saling kenal mengenal. Sesungguhnya orang yang paling mulia di antara kamu di sisi Allah ialah orang yang paling bertaqwa di antara kamu. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi maha Mengenal.” (Al-Hujarat: 13)

Sirah telah membuktikan bahawa seorang Khalifah mulia menjodohkan puteranya dengan seorang gadis penjual susu lantaran iman yang kuat menjadi benteng gadis itu daripada menderhakai Allah. Akhlak indah yang menjadi pakaian gadis suci itu membuatkan hati Khalifah terpaut. Inilah kisah yang ingin aku kongsikan denganmu wahai calon zaujahku.

Pada suatu malam Khalifah Umar Ibnu Khattab sedang membuat tinjauan terhadap rakyat-rakyatnya. Sampailah Umar ra. di sebuah rumah penduduk, ketika itu mereka sedang berbincang tentang sesuatu. Umar mendengar semua perbincangan mereka. Seorang ibu berkata kepada anak perempuannya:“Anakku bangunlah, serta campurkanlah susu itu dengan air. Puterinya menjawab: Apakah ibu belum mendengar larangan daripada Amirul Mukminin itu? Ibu itu bertanya lagi:“Apakah larangan Amirul Mukminin itu?” Puterinya menjelaskan: “Wahai ibu, sesungguhnya Amirul Mukminin melarang umat Islam menjual susu yang dicampurkan dengan air”Ibu itu berkata lagi: “Cepatlah engkau campurkan susu itu dengan air, tak usahlah kamu takut dengan Saidina Umar, kerana ia tidak melihatnya” Puterinya menjawab: “Wahai ibuku, memang Umar ra. tidak melihat kita, tetapi Tuhan yang disembah Umar melihat kita. Maafkan saya wahai ibuku, kerana tidak dapat mematuhi permintaanmu. Saya tidak mahu menjadi orang yang munafik mematuhi perintah di hadapan orang ramai, tetapi melanggarnya apabila di belakang mereka.”Khalifah Umar ra. yang terkenal tegas itu menjadi terharu hatinya. Umar ra. merasa bangga dengan ketaqwaan gadis miskin penjual susu tersebut. Setelah pagi, Saidina Umar memerintahkan puteranya Ashim supaya pergi ke rumah gadis tersebut.
“Wahai anakku, pergilah engkau ke sebuah rumah penduduk, di dalamnya ada gadis penjual susu, jika ia masih sendiri, pinanglah ia. Mudah-mudahan Allah akan memberikan kurnia kepadamu anak yang soleh.”Ternyata dugaan Saidina Umar ra. itu benar sekali. Ashim menikah dengan wanita yang mulia tersebut dan mendapat seorang anak perempuan yang bernama Ummu Ashim. Kemudian Ummu Ashim berkahwin dengan Abdul Aziz bin Marwan, dan mereka mendapat seorang anak lelaki yang bernama Umar bin Abdul Aziz, yang kemudian menjadi seorang khalifah yang terkenal dan bijaksana.
Jika asas baitul muslim itu kukuh, tidak mustahil ia mampu melahirkan pejuang-pejuang agamaNya yang berpedangkan taqwa dan berperisaikan iman. Di hati mereka bercahaya dengan kasih sayang Ilahi kerana mereka lahir daripada bait penyatuan dua jiwa yang hidup berbumbungkan sunnah berpelitakan al-Quran, berdindingkan wasatiah dan qanaah. Itulah hakikat sebuah baitul muslim.

Calon zaujahku yang telah dijanjikanNya ,
" Kaum lelaki itu adalah pemimpin bagi kaum wanita, oleh kerana Allah telah melebihkan sebahagian mereka (lelaki) atas sebahagian yang lain (wanita), dan kerana mereka (lelaki) telah menafkahkan sebahagian dari harta mereka".(An-Nissa':34)

Surah yang diberikan kemuliaan buatmu dan insan yang bergelar wanita. Istimewanya dirimu sehinggakan Allah menukilkan pesananNya dalam surah khusus buatmu. Dan itulah janji-janji Allah bahawa seorang wanita yang solehah itulah mutiara syurga buat suaminya walaupun kekayaan duniawi tidak terhampar di kakimu.

Maafkan aku kiranya tiada harta yang mewah, mutiara atau kilauan permata kupersembahkan dalam hidupmu. Tetapi, aku hanya mampu menjanjikan hantaran yang paling berguna untuk kita berdua sepanjang zaman. Itulah panduanNya, Qalamullah. Islam menegaskan agar ku ajar dirimu mengenal Allah, zat yang agung. Itulah kunci kesempurnaan yang hakiki.

Seringkali kau mengeluh, kau hanya insan lemah. Sedarilah bakal isteriku, kelemahanmu itu adalah kekuatan yang dikurniakan Allah buatmu. Dari kelemahan itu, terletaknya rahim yang telah melahirkan seorang Rasul, seorang Nabi, seorang abid dan juga pejuang jihad yang Allah janjikan syurga demi setitis darah mereka.

Ia lahir daripada jerih doamu, penat sabarmu dan lelah tabahmu. Akal setipis rambut, tebalkan dengan ilmu.Hati serapuh kaca,kuatkan dengan iman. Perasaan selembut sutera,hiasilah dengan akhlak

Bantulah aku dalam mentakrifkan pernikahan ini. Semoga ia menjadi wasilah sebuah pembangunan insaniyyah yang akan menjadi khemah dakwah dan tarbiyyah.

Bakal isteriku yang dirahmati,
Titipan ini sudah sampai ke penghujungnya. Namun, doaku padamu tidak pernah berakhir. Seperti doaku padaNya, moga saf antara aku dan dirimu akan bersama-sama melalui siratulmustaqim yang lurus menuju jannahNya yang dirindui. InsyaAllah.

Andai ada ingatan darimu, pohonkan dariNya moga aku terus tegak dalam memperjuangkan kalimahNya walau dijengah mehnah lantaran zaman ini adalah pengakhiran sebuah destinasi.. Dunia sudah terlalu tua, ia hanya menanti masa.

Appreciate What You Have!

"With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift.
Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing..
You get to choose!"

MORAL FOR TODAY

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him.. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he quietened down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

Free your mind from worries - Most never happen!

Live simply and appreciate what you have!

Expect less!
